Our purpose-designed Altus bass enclosures (under development) transforms your Mikros bookshelf speakers into full 3-way floorstanders. In this configuration, the Mikros' 176mm driver transitions from handling both midrange and bass to becoming a dedicated midrange driver, reducing intermodulation distortion and further enhancing midrange clarity.
The purpose-built Altus bass enclosures features 2 x 176mm Purifi drivers per channel, dramatically extending the system's bass response down to 25Hz and adding considerable body in the bass and lower midrange regions. Operating in the 25-400Hz range, the bass enhancer provides formidable extra presence and weight to the sound, creating a more immersive and powerful listening experience. Furthermore, the integration of these dedicated bass units increases the overall sensitivity of the speaker system by approximately 7dB, allowing for greater dynamic range and impact even at lower power levels.
