The Altus are coming soon....
The Altus will allow the Mikros speakers to be converted into a formidable 3-way floorstanding speaker.
The Altus are NOT just a "bass bin" to add extra bass to the Mikros. The combination of the Mikros and Altus will fundamentally change the crossover topology of the Mikros and transform them from a standmount 2-way speaker to a purely midrange and tweeter enclosure. The Altus will then cover all frequencies below 400Hz. The Mikros (in floorstander guise) will only cover from 400Hz upwards, therefore relieving the midrange from any bass duties. The Mikros will not require any internal mods and will (using the additional posts on the rear) convert into a true 3-way speaker with the addition of the Altus.
The Mikros are incredible performers on their own, but the Altus will increase their performance to a new level. Sensitivity will increase to around 92db and the extra membrane area will noticeably increase dynamics, scale, power and realism. The Mikros midrange will be relieved of bass duties and thus less encumbered by intermodular distortion - more scale and dynamics and even better midrange quality.
All Mikros can be upgraded with the addition of the Altus lower enclosure.
